Founded
in 1990, the Association for Multimedia Communications (AMC) is
Chicagos premier networking and professional organization
for people who make New Media happen. Whether its the Web,
CD-ROMs and DVDs, interactive kiosks, streaming media, or other
digital forms, the AMC promotes understanding of technology, e-learning,
and e-business. Our goal since inception has been to help members
achieve success through education and networking.
The AMC is currently comprised of two active Special Interest
Groups (SIGs): the Macromedia Users Group (MMUG), and the ASG - Applied
Simulations & Games SIG. In addition we host listservs for the WebSIG,
the e-learning SIG, and the Net Content/Chicago SIG. Active SIG groups
typically meet once per month. We have also hosted special events such
as the Parade of E-Learning Vendors, the Interactive Communications &
Design Competition, and our annual Holiday Party.
