Using Streaming Media Effectively To Create Site Stickiness
When
Tuesday, August 28, 2001
From BMWFilms, Army and Diet Coke to local broadcasters
and government agencies, streaming media is beginning to be utilized to
enhance a Web site's look and attraction power. However, streaming is
not about replaying TV ads or re-purposed content. Instead, it's an opportunity
to provide consumers with something unique, something of value - that
also serves to create a dialogue and connection with consumers, the real
drivers behind purchases. How your company should utilize streaming depends
on the overall marketing goals. Yes, the Internet and streaming should
be a part of an integrated marketing strategy.
At our August WebSIG meeting Kelli Feigley, from Dreaming
Tree Films, will share some of the streaming programs she and other agencies
have worked on, and how they were determined based on goals and objectives
of the particular client. Also to be shared, the challenges and results
of some of the programs, and what other ideas Dreaming Tree has for clients
in all industries who want to use streaming media to their advantage!
ABOUT DREAMING TREE FILMS
Chicago-based Dreaming Tree Films is an entertainment production
studio that specializes in creating short-form "Webisodes" for
the Internet sites of broadcasters, cable networks and marketers. Their
mission is to help clients interact and connect with their consumers through
entertainment. Recently, the company worked with WB and UPN-TV stations
to create "Book of Stories" - a 4-part Webisode series that
ran exclusively on the stations' Web sites. The series helped drive revenues
and Web traffic, and pulled in over 65 pages of online chat. Part 2 of
the series will debut this Fall, as will other programs.
Dreaming Tree Films works almost exclusively with local,
emerging talent including writers and directors, for all of their projects.
One of their short films was recently showcased at the Chicago Short Comedy
Fest in July, and another feature length program will be seen at the Independent
Feature Project market in New York this September. They can be reached
at 773-665-2422 or via www.dreamingtreefilms.com.
